3.2  Make the Set Design of Your Life

We see a man that looks at himself in the mirror. A thick red circle is surroundng the silver mirror. It is part of a set design that one of the students have made. It is a bathroom that is photographed in close up, a face is looking towards us, you can see half of the face looks like he is looking out of a window, or is it a box or a notebook that is held by a finger? The face is painted grey with an orange outline. The Artist made it with a pencil. The top of the page is green and on there is written: 'Make the Set Design of Your Life'. There are also lights visible, they are hanging on wooden sticks made out of Fimo clay. The colours are orange yellow blue and black. The black and the blue are not made from fimo clay, they are made from wool. On the right hand side there is a white sculpture standing. It looks like an abstract human that is looking at himself.
Pic 3.3

This is the title of a book that I wrote about an artistic project that I have done in Sevilla.

I asked students with a down syndrome to create a «set design of their dreams» in three dimensions.

The set designs that were made have shown to me that dreams of people with down syndrome can be very close to home. They want a family, they want to be a flamenco dancer or they want to be accepted just in the way they are.
