2.2.7  Colors of the Rainbow

The next drawing is inspired by crystals that were shining in my room in the morning one day. It is again an abstract drawing on a white fabric background. There are 10 circles evenly spread over the canvas. The rainbows visible are made up of melted crayons in the colors of the rainbow. When the light shines through the canvas the piece becomes alive and the the canvas is transparent, the circular colors of the rainbow become much brighter.

The next piece was inspired by sunlight shining through crystals that were hanging in my room one morning. I made the circles using a method where I melted crayons using a hair dryer. The crayons were put together in a special arrangement and the heat of the hairdryer was so hot, that it melted the plastic below the piece of art, not only the crayon. It was difficult for me to keep the hairdryer going because of its weight. This work required a lot of trust in my own body. I am very happy with the result, you can see the power and beauty in simpleness just like in nature. Abstraction looks often very free and random but behind the scenes alot of choices have to be made.

The Picture Measures 61cm by 42.
