2.2.8  Monkey Man

The painting was made on a white paper, I used a paintbrush and just one color, purple. The assignment was to paint fast and not be limited by the small size of the paper. It is a drawing of a stick man. The arms, head and ears are sharply curved and the body and legs are smooth and straight. The head is quite big in proportion to the body. When I look at the drawing I get a feeling of the power of the body that is created.
Pic 2.39: "Monkey Man"

This is the result of a very quick drawing after a session with the Alexander Technique. It shows the power of fluidity without thought and without limiting yourself to the constraints of one area. In this piece you can see how a few indications of the body can still create a human form. In 8 rapid movements the form was created and connected all at once.

The Picture Measures 58cm by 42cm.
